Day 2

by Jeremy Bassetti

I finally made it to Sucre, but not before heading to the Plaza 24 de Septiembre in Santa Cruz to get a coffee from Castro. It was as hot as it was sweet, the traditional recipe calling for condensed milk to be mixed with coffee. After a quick stroll and a hardy lunch with a group of Mennonites, I left VVI for SRE. Stepping off the plane felt like a gut punch, the wind sucked out of me. The KN95 mask didn’t help either. But this was all to be expected; the Sucre airport is some 10,000 ft in elevation. A few days here in Sucre.
